Build-up Problem:
- Mix shampoo or dish liquid with baking soda to form a paste, apply
to hair for 5 minutes, then wash as normal. Will remove hair spray
and other residue.
- Blonde hair that has turned green from too much exposure to pool
chemicals or sun responds well to the ketchup treatment..
Apply real ketchup to the hair. Work it in carefully with your fingers or
a very wide toothed comb. Leave the ketchup
on your hair for 20-30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse with cold water.
Depending on the amount of green this treatment may need to be done more
than once.
- If you are coloring your
hair at home use a thin layer of a Vaseline or petroleum
type of product to coat the skin around your hairline and prevent any
staining.
- For safely removing hair color stains from the skin try toothpaste (any
brand) it contains just enough abrasive ingredients to safely remove the
stain without any harm to sensitive skin.Just apply a small dab to your finger
and gently rub the toothpaste over the stained area of the skin. Rinse
with lukewarm water. Repeat until the stain is removed.
- To remove stains after hair coloring use left over perm solution on a cotton swab to wipe the stains then wash hair as usual
- A pinch of camphor added to coconut oil and applied on
hair helps to prevent infections and lice infestations.
- If you have dandruff, apply
warm coconut oil on the scalp with cotton wool. Keep it on overnight.
Next morning,
apply
the juice of a lemon on the scalp for half an hour then rinse your hair
as usual. This treatment helps to get rid of flakes and cleanses the scalp.
Hair also gets added body and bounce
- Using a lot of shampoo does not get your hair cleaner. It only causes a
depletion of oil and moisture
- Do not brush wet hair. Use a wide toothed comb to get all the tangles out,
working from the ends upwards
- Apply five tablespoons of honey on tangled hair and leave on for five-ten
minutes, then wash off
- Shiny Hair - use brewed Lipton Tea
